Iranian ‘Short Wave’ to vie at Swiss fest

Iranian ‘Short Wave’ is to compete at the Iranian Film Festival Zurich in Switzerland.

Iranian Film Festival Zurich in Switzerland (IFFZ) has scheduled to screen the short title ‘Short Wave’.

Written and directed by Mohammad Esmaeeli, the film is adapted from a story written by Gholam-Hossein Saedi.

It tells the story of a man who is struggling with the annoying sound of his environment and shows his attempts to silence them.

The short title has received the Best Experimental/Art Film award at the 15th Annual West Chester International Short Film Festival in the US and a Special Mention at the 5th Alexandria Short Film Festival in Greece.

The IFFZ aims to fill the cultural gap between Iranians and Swiss as well as the many foreigners living in Switzerland.

The event defines itself as “A Platform for presenting the Iranian culture and tradition and for building a bridge between different cultures by the means of the universal language of art and especially the 7th art, cinema”.

This edition of the festival will be held online on May 28-June 03, 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic.
